Dashboard for a horse studbook

For a horse studbook we built a dashboard that holds the whole association in one view. Sources that used to be kept apart now feed management information the board and the office can follow week by week, from breeding through to the membership register.

It goes further than the usual headline figures. Fertility indicators, coverings and births, members joining and leaving: all side by side, each with its trend. So you can see what is really shifting, and where it is worth stepping in.

Process analysis

From your own records we reconstruct how the work really runs: lead times, bottlenecks and the exceptions that have become the rule, set alongside conversations with the people doing it.

How the work is written down and how it actually runs are rarely the same. We reconstruct the process from the traces it leaves in your own systems: orders, schedules, records, lead times. That shows where work gets stuck, where steps are done twice, and where the exception has quietly become the rule.

That picture rests on what was recorded rather than what people remember. We set it alongside conversations and time spent watching the real work, because the figures show what happens and the people show why.

Data integration and reporting

Sources such as Excel, ERP, AFAS or SharePoint brought into one coherent picture, with reporting that refreshes itself instead of being rebuilt by hand every month.

Before data can tell you anything, it has to be clear what is being recorded. In many organisations that has clouded over the years: sources that grew up separately, the same figure going by two different names, and definitions nobody can recite in full any more.

We chart that landscape: which sources exist, how they relate, where the duplicates and the gaps are, and what definitions really sit behind the figures. It is rarely glamorous work, but it is the ground every later analysis and every dashboard stands on.
